This research analyses Lithuania’s ongoing institutional and party-political dynamics, considering the European Parliament elections on 9 June 2024. The topic is relevant because the electoral competition lies at the core of institutional, economic and political transitions started by Lithuania since its independence from the Soviet Union. More specifically, the institutional transition towards democratic values and the rule of law comprises at least three main stages. The first stage is the approval of the Republican Constitution, adopted on 25 October 1992, following the declaration of independence from the Soviet Union.
