Abstract [It]: Il contributo ricostruisce l’ingresso delle donne nella cittadinanza politica attraverso le elezioni del 1946 e l’esperienza delle ventuno Costituenti. L’analisi si concentra sulle figure di Maria Fiorini Nicotra Verzotto e Ottavia Penna Buscemi, due deputate siciliane spesso marginali nella ricostruzione storiografica, evidenziandone il contributo al processo costituente e all’ampliamento della partecipazione femminile nella costruzione della Repubblica.

 

Title: Two Sicilian women in the Constituent Assembly: Maria Nicotra Fiorini Verzotto and Ottavia Penna Buscemi in the process of building the Republic

Abstract [En]: This paper reconstructs the entry of women into political citizenship through the 1946 elections and the experience of the twenty-one Constituents. The analysis focuses on the figures of Maria Fiorini Nicotra Verzotto and Ottavia Penna Buscemi, two Sicilian deputies who are often marginal in their historiographical reconstruction, highlighting their contribution to the constituent process and the expansion of female participation in the construction of the Republic.
