 Il referendum nel Regno Unito prima e dopo la Brexit

Abstract [It]: il contributo propone una riflessione sull’uso dello strumento referendario nel Regno Unito. Muovendo dall’analisi del peculiare rapporto fra la sovranità parlamentare e quella popolare nel quadro del costituzionalismo britannico, si cercherà di comprendere se il voto sulla Brexit abbia mutato la fisionomia del referendum, ovvero se ne abbia confermato i consueti caratteri e le connesse divergenze di ordine interpretativo.

 

Title: The UK referendum before and after Brexit

Abstract [En]: the essay proposes a reflection on the use of the referendum in the United Kingdom. Starting from the analysis of the peculiar relationship between parliamentary and popular sovereignty in the context of British constitutionalism, we will try to understand whether the Brexit vote has changed the nature of the referendum, or if on the contrary it has confirmed its usual characteristics and the related interpretative divergences.
